As someone who hates physics, Kumaradas definelty makes it feel a little better, his lectures are pretty fun and the poll questions were practically a free 5%. However, beware, you won't learn a lot from the lectures. Do the homework, read the textbook and you'll probably be fine. Midterm was easy, final was really hard.
He was a cool and nice guy, but you probably won't learn much throughout his lectures. Most of your learning comes from the mandatory homework and textbook. Course itself was fair, pacing was slow and labs were free makes. He simply goes through like one or two examples in an hour, and then throws polling for marks at the end so you go to lecture
There's a mandatory textbook and homework is assigned through it. Lectures are a little disorganized but still managed to keep up with the schedule. He doesn't teach everything needed for the homework and exams, so make sure to read the textbook. Mandatory labs and poll questions in lectures for marks (can be replaced with the final's grade).
Nice guy and I can tell he's passionate about physics. Course has a lot of homework and polls mainly for participation, they're (mainly) free marks but if you don't do them they can also be replaced by the final exam. Generally was an easy course if you did go to lectures and did the homework, only complaint was the disorganization of the midterm.
Carl was great, just the final was somewhat difficult compared to the midterm and homework. Don't fall victim to post midterm laziness and you shall breeze through.
The class was a disaster and the prof didn't make it any easier. The lectures most of the time were waste of time, tho we needed to attend them because of lecture polls. 50% of class spends on solving one example, 10% on technical issues, 20% on the actual lecture and like 20% on the polls, which are very simple idk why he is giving so much time
Teaches in a very organized and fun way! Great Prof
I don't usually write reviews but, Professor Carl Kumaradas was a great professor. Very knowledgable in physics and very fair to his students. Also very interested in his research and experience with cancer research as I have had tumours myself. I was glad he touched on several instances where physics was applicable to treating cancer.
The guy is the biggest joke to ever exist... if your first year and you get this guy for physics drop the course asap and choose some other science course... He does not teach anything during lectures
He is a very good prof whatever you may have heard. Attendance was only necessary if you wanna get an extra 5% in your overall grade. His office hours are helpful and his lecture notes are clear. What I like the most is that he explains stuff kinda slow and you keep up with him. Plus he likes to crack jokes or tell stories from his life!
