If Alex Ufkes has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Alex Ufkes has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Alex Ufkes has only one fan, then that is me. If Alex Ufkes has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Alex Ufkes, then I am against the world.
The slides are great as an introduction to the course, but It won't get you as far as doing the labs. If you go to lectures and sit down for an hour or two each week to do each lab to really understand it then this will be an easy 4.33. Course is quite interesting as well.
His slides are very theory-heavy when you are only tested on practical coding. If you can learn code by looking at pictures of completed code, then his slide will work for you, but personally, I wish he would do more examples with the class. However, exams and labs are fair!
Don't listen to the people who say this is a free 4.33. They probably have 10 years of coding experience. This course is terribly structured. No part marks either. A lot of people failed they just don't say anything.
Do not listen to the bad reviews. I've had him for 4 courses, and he is my favourite professor. His lectures are actually well thought out and his exams are not too hard. For CPS506 just make sure to do lots of practice and don't cram. Keep up with the labs and know your syntax.
Difficult final. No mock final/practice exam so no way to prepare. No part marks either. Don't listen to people who say this was easy. One mistake and your code won't compile and it's over for you. This course is worse than cps706.
Questions on the final were nothing like the labs or even leetcode medium/hard. This course is impossible and you'll likely fail unless you have years and years of coding experience. Overall the course has was too many slides and he just reads off them without explaining.
Slides are detailed and good. Overall a chill prof and willing to help when you ask for it. During lectures he usually just reads off slides, sometimes I found he could've explained concepts in a easier way. Although, even with doing practice questions, midterm and final is way too hard and unpredictable.
speaks clear and his slides are good
He is the goat of all goats. Goated slides chill asf. Never had bad experience with him, had him like 3 times so far😍😍😍
