took her mini course in the summer and she was ok, really dull but fine. Also, having quizzes every week is a waste.
This is a very interesting course that made me think a lot during classes. Incredibly dedicated professor who always goes above and beyond to support students' success, she responds with patience, never making us feel hesitant to ask. Her strong sense of responsibility and commitment to teaching truly commands my respect and admiration.
She writes the lectures on a tiny board in the cineplex, instead of writing them digital like most professors, on the theatre screen. If you're not in the front row, the lecture is not visible at all
every other cps188 prof is better than her why does she have a 4.
She does pop quizzes, say its worth 10% on the spot (mind you not even in the outline) then right after she says "this one isnt marked but the next one will be"
Your required to do in person quizzes for extra credit, in the cineplex theatres where there are no tables. this is the only class where there are these quizzes btw. good practice material but because the slides are shared with all profs, just go to a a different profs lectures that explains how to code in a more digestible way.
She is just bad at explaining if you do not have a coding background.
Great prof, REALLY cares about her students. Clear explanations, and lots of helpful examples. 10/10, one of the best profs by far.
She's a nice professor, but you need to attend her class every day. Sometimes her teaching style is challenging, but honestly, her exams are relatively easy if you keep up with every lecture. If you do, you will likely earn straight A's.
I feel incredibly grateful to have taken CPS 213, with Maryam. I really like this professor, her class was well organized, provides a lot of useful examples, and encourages students to think independently. She explains concepts in an engaging way, making even complex topics easier to understand.
