He's great, good sense of humour and explains concepts well. Tests are fair

Lester is definitely passionate about what he does but he struggles to stay on track. He also spends 20+ minutes explaining basic concepts that were covered thoroughly in the prerequisite courses, and then says "oh gosh we've gone over time". I think he needs to learn to stick to the material and not go on irrelevant tangents.

Lester is THE best prof I've had in my undergrad. Constantly seeks feedback from students on his teaching style to improve. Focuses on most difficult topics, so students can succeed. Detail oriented. Has high standards and teaches the students to produce quality work. He truly will prepare you for your next job. I am so impressed. THE GOAT!!!

Dr. Hiraki is a great teacher. Easily the best I've had at Ryerson so far. He's very patient in explaining topics to you and provides great lecture notes. If you attend class and do all of the labs & assignments you will do well in his course.

Loved Lester's class! He was great at breaking down concepts so you REALLY understand what's going on. You can tell he wants everybody to learn and excel in the course. Tends to ramble but you can tell how passionate he is about the subjects so it's still engaging. If you follow all the instructions given in class you will do well.

Lester gave a very thorough and comprehensive walkthrough of Unix, C and C++. He goes through basic programming best practices and is very quick at marking assignments and providing feedback to students. I learnt a lot in this course and it was not too difficult if you attend the lectures and generally pay attention in class.

Lester Hiraki is amazing at explaining concepts and making sure that they stick, the course was very helpful in learning the fundamentals of UNIX, C, and C++.

Great professor, really good at explaining the material and lectures are very helpful. Assignments and Evaluations are challenging but he is a reasonable grader. He moves really fast through the C and C++ course, so try to stay on top of the work

Don't Take Any Classes with Him!!! HE CALLS HIS STUDENT IDIOT. CLASS AVERAGE IS 50-60. if you want higher grade, take it in regular school, not in chang! Very TOUGH GRADER
