I'm sad Ramani is retiring this year as I would have loved to take more building science courses with him. He is a great prof and explains concepts very well and constantly responds to questions even over class time.
Requires tremendous amount of effort for things that are little, everything has to be done exactly the way he wants it, exam is based on what he says in the class instead of the lecture slides or text books. Don't take his classes unless you are ready to suck his balls and go see him for every small detail and survive the most boring classes.
Amazingly knowledgeable professor. Near genius level intellect. You will do very well in this class if you: (1) attend all the lectures (without falling asleep) and (2) actually do some of your own research. The material can be learnt, but only with effort. If you don't put in the time and effort you won't do well. Wicked course, though.
He is one of the best in his field & is a kind, super helpful prof. Many of us archies dont care about bldg science courses like this one- even I skipped around half the lectures- which is why they may have had a bad experience with it. Even still he teaches very useful, relevant information that u WILL remember & use even as a student intern.
He his not clear about anything. He is not organized at all. No textbook for his class, just some random references. Talks about his life instead of teaching
very smart guy, but belittles the students
I've had almost every class he teaches. He's such a nice guy, loves to help students that work hard, but he really needs someone to help him get organized and welcome him to the 21st century.
This is the only professor I had any serious issues with in my four years at Ryerson. He is rude, condescending, and completely and utterly chaotic. He handed us an assignment and a conglomoration of photocopies that made no sense to anyone but him. He needs to learn to clearly convey himself.
He's one of the few prof in this god-d*mned program that has passion for his materials.
