Dr. Burwell was very engaging in lectures. The books we had to read were very engaging and enjoyable. The assignments were fun! I would strongly recommend.
Dr. Burwell provided very engaging lectures, the books were very interesting and easy reads. Would recommend!!!!
Jennifer Burwell is a lovely professor. In her class you get whichever grade you choose based on how many assignments you do. The A+ assignment is nearly impossible with a full schedule, but getting an A is generally easy. If you fail she will give you a chance to re-do it which is nice. I really like her class structure, and she is a kind prof.
Dr. Burwell's class was engaging and invigorating, she is intelligent and rather sassy, too. The online discussion questions were among the most stimulating I have participated in. The Literatures of Modernity program was very seminar-heavy, so expect to be working on presentations each class and to be writing 20-page essays for each.
funny prof!, she's an easy marker as long as you do the work she'll give you the marks for it. easiest class I've had. if you're interested in non fiction maybe not the course for you, its more of a course to boost your gpa
Dr. Burwell is very smart, but her lectures dragged on and she was a tough grader. Overall this was a very heavy course (long readings, difficult assignments, participation grades), so make sure you are interested in the topic before you decide to take it.
Doesn't really elaborate on the assignments in class and provides little feedback.
took non-fiction but ended up writing some fiction, boring lectures, nice prof though, I didn't reading anything in this class bc tbh it really didn't matter even if you did, I missed classes but didn't miss material or content, once again though she's nice and if you have to take ENG 208 take her bc at least you're guaranteed a nice teacher
I didn't read a single piece of literature because there was no incentive to do so. This class was also about NON-FICTION yet I had to write a piece of FICTION, this doesn't add up in my opinion. This class was absolutely awful, easy marker though.
