While Professor Maureen can be intimidating, her lectures and notes make the material surprisingly clear. With regular attendance and using resources like unstuck AI, the class is manageable. Just don't expect any leniency on assignments or tests.
Would not take this prof again. She was a good prof but he had such a terrible attitude. Quizzes are easy but it did no prepare me for the exam. Assignments felt impossible and the exam was extremely hard. No matter how much I studied, it did not help me during the exam.
One of the best professors I have ever taken during my two years at this school. Unfortunately, she is retiring, but she deserves it after teaching stats. It's a hard course, but she makes it seem like a breeze. You are good to go as long as you come to class, pay attention, and ask questions.
Maureen is an incredible professor, and the TAs were too (they stayed for each class to assist other students during lectures). She explains things thoroughly and makes it stick instead of giving a few questions and leaving you on your own. Lots of homework assignments and quizzes (every other week) but it helped for preparation of the final exam.
This is the best prof I have ever had to date. I have horrible math anxiety, and not once did I find Professor Reed's class difficult. She is amazing, straightforward and incredibly organized, and she lets you know exactly what she requires. It is a shame she is retiring, I would have loved to take more classes with her. :)
She marks easy and cares about her students, but there are way too many tests and assignments.
Maureen can seem scary at first, but she's a real gem. From someone who struggled with math in high school, I got 90s with Maureen. You need to put in the work, it's definitely a heavy course but Maureen clearly explains her expectations and is a very fair grader, no surprises on exams. Also gives great feedback on the assignment!
I really enjoyed this class and her teaching style. Normally I have a really hard time understanding concepts in math, but her lectures and notes made everything really clear for me and I would definitely take another class with her!
Professor Reed seems intimidating but I was surprised to see a different side of her when talking to her one on one. She truly cares about her students' success and her expectations are fair & straight forward. You know exactly what to expect on tests and how to do well, you just have to put the effort in.
Overall good teaching methods, however, she does move extremely fast. Hard to talk to about any issues that arise, so I do recommend going to the TA instead of asking her anything.
