A really boring class, but its an easy A. He did not set up the page online so we had no way to know our grades ever or get a look at the slides, or get any of his info. Midterm was quite easy, notes are allowed. He does not really know how technology works which affects his classes.
Coolest prof ever. Absolutely wild lectures, sit front row and he'll remember your face when interacting. Terrible at emailing, doesn't post online, but super personable and interesting to listen to. Favourite prof yet.
The only marks you get from a midterm and a final. He doesn't give you a lot of detail about the midterm until the day of. I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone not in Image Arts because it's very art history heavy. HE DOESN'T POST ANYTHING ONLINE but his lectures are really fun and bizarre
Best and most entertaining teacher out there. Attendance is not mandatory, but you dont want to miss eds class. By the end of the semester, you will become enlightened. He also loves the grateful dead.
I don't get up for 9am classes.... but I did for his, every goddamn week! I even sneak into his class this year just to do it again...
Can appear slightly crazy at times, but be patient, he's going somewhere with what he says. Probably my favourite class to attend this semester.
What an awesome teacher! Concepts & Theories was easily my favorite class first semester. Make sure you pay attention, because you will learn tons from this man about becoming a more whole and complete artist
this is the best university professor you will ever have ever.
Apart from his kooky appearance [now he has long white hair and only wears black] and his tendency to act like you should understand the pretentious material - this prof is quite funny and interesting. Not the best class I have, but he makes enough use of videos, photos and powerpoints to keep me awake.
Slopek is AMAZING! His teaching and his assignments are unorthodox, but that's what makes it fun. Open your mind and embrace the positive weirdness - the only sure way to lose marks in his class is to be unimaginative. I wish he taught more classes!
