Very easy but boring.
She is a professor who wants her students to talk to each other, so prepare for group work and weekly assignments! She gets low ratings for disorganized classes, but she def has improved over the years. I thought this class would be easy, but it kind of wasn't? Besides that shes a very chill and approachable person, she's always up for discussions!
Extremely disorganized and leaves me lost while reading assignment instructions that feel like trying to go through a maze. Google submissions are also extremely annoying.
Let me get this straight, I took this class as an elective thinking it would be a breeze. Boy was I wrong. The description for this class seemed interesting enough but when it is being taught by this professor, I rather watch paint dry on a wall and it would still be more entertaining. Her use of google drive- unorganized asl, save yourself stress.
She's nice, but her entire course is so disorganized. Everything operates through multiple folders in folders that most people didn't even know the midterm was due till three days before the deadline because her system is so messy. An enormous workload and constant group work make this course unbearable, considering the topic is SOOOO boring.
She is very clear about what you can and can't get away with in what she looks for when grading After that, it's mostly up to you how you do in the class Also good at providing alternatives to some assignments as well, just be respectful&reasonable when asking for changes Warning it was a very project-heavy class with not much writing or reading
From the syllabus RTA107 seemed like a dream course, pass/fail where you're only working on big projects. Not Alex, her pass/fail is that if she has something to critique: fail. With weekly assignments ON TOP OF weekly iterations, the workload is unbearable. She ferments scents as a hobby, something you will hear about every class.
Alex will show you really weird stuff in this class to put it mildly. I've had alex a couple times now and heres what I've noticed -Her power points are bad (just copy and pasted photos from google, she barly writes anything herself) -You can skip half her classes and still pass -her classes are boring TLDR: Nice person, bad teacher
I love alex. I am not sure why people have given her a bad grade, but she was amazing! Literally, just show up, do her assignments, participate, easy 4.00. Alex loves her students and everyone in the new media community and will literally help you pass your courses if you have any trouble.
Alex was a great prof. This class was so much fun, and it's clear that she cares about the content she taught and her students. Lots of work, but it wasn't difficult to complete and was easily marked.
