Genuinely the best prof ive ever had
He was my favorite professor this semester. He knows what he is talking about and will explain everything in a clear manner. This is one of these classes where you only get half the information by only reading the lecture note. Make sure you actually understand the material, he won't hesitate to give you zero on tests if you make certain errors.
He was extremely rude and did not help me at all. I asked him a question through email and he was extremely condescending the entire class towards his students.
Awesome prof for ELE504. Had him in F2021. Clear, neat, and detailed lecture notes. Very good at teaching. And he blessed us so hard for the final exam. We had 3 hours to do the final exam and 2 hours to do the midterm. But he made the final exam 5 questions just like the midterm. 100% would take him again.
One of the best professors I had so far. He is really focus on the knowledge being transmitted, rather than memorizing methods and formulas. Instead of throwing all the information at once, since he has everything on PDF, he writes it all over again every class so we can follow the thought process behind the subject.
I left a bad review after the midterm but I take a lot of it back. Mike really looks at these and changes the way he approaches teaching. After the midterm he was nicer and really made sure we understood. Final exam was fair and he made up for the horrible midterm. Overall decent guy.
Rude, condescending guy. Our midterm average was 43% and he blames it on us. He tells us a better way to study is to practice problems. No duh. He also tells us not to be greedy with how many problems we can solve on the final. He does not want us to succeed.
Weekly labs with lengthy prelabs, which if you forget cover page, lab is 0. Midterm was way too long so the average was 43, to which he boosted up 20% seemingly cause he realized it was far too long. Kassam is a decent prof but not reasonable. Grading scheme must be altered to offer more leniency toward small errors.
Ive had amazing professors, who genuinely care for the students and will work with the students to ensure everyone is learning. Kassam is not one of those professors. Good luck to all who fall into this dark abyss of trying to learn and pass a course taught by pure egotistic ideologies.
