Not so good

horrible prof. goes off topic, and tried to chargeme with plagiarism because i handed in the wrong copy of my essay. beware

He seems to know his stuff, but he wastes time by talking about things unrelated to the course. He doesn't explain things properly, is really biased and doesn't consider alternate views. He doesn't explain an assignment properly, and doesn't give rubrics. I hated going to class, but it wasn't hard, and I got a good mark in the end.

This man, on top of being a terrible professor and tough marker is belligerently homophobic. He is trained in analyzing language, yet he can't identify how offensive his own words are. Don't take his class if you don't want to hear about how icky gays are.

I go to the Chang school part-time because I enjoy learning and am generally interested in Eng Lit. Gary's approach to learning is very surface level. He has lots of charts and hand outs, but they don't compensate for the lack of depth and discussion. I would recommend taking another professor unless you are just looking for an easy grade.

His class Laughter and Tears: Comedy & Tragedy was really fun, interesting and had many unforgettable short stories. Garry is very knowledgably and speaks clearly. He is a tough marker but if you do well he will give the mark that u deserve rather than looking for points to fail you.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. He is inconsiderate, rude and he goes off topic. His tests and exams are not useful. You don't learn anything that'll help you in the future. Do not take him. Definitely not worth your money.

great guy but goes off topic a lot.class can easily be trimmed by an hour if he would stick 2 the topic on hand but that doesnt mean what he says is useles.he knows his stuff.is open 2 opinions.takes questions well.helps when needed and humorous @ times too.essays are marked extremely hard whereas midterm and exams r not.read the books inside out!!

Great teacher, but goes on tangents a lot of the time, although you will learn a lot. Essays are pretty tough, but the exams are real mark boosters. I failed my last english class and got an A in this one if that says anything.

Gary is a good teacher, but he goes on long rants that are off topic and he is not very open minded to seeing new ways of looking at whats happening in the books. I have a learning disabilty and approached him about getting a notetaker for the class.He said he would not help me when disabilty services said he was supposed to.
