JUST NO (respectfully)! many times, i found myself wondering how she's a prof😆 shortly: 1) doesnt know what she's talking about, 2) can feel condescending, 3) doesnt put important info on slides (INFURIATING), 4) spent a lecture playing 3 movie trailers?! got an A+, so dont worry, just read the textbook, note EVERYTHING, & youll do GR8!
This prof would test you on a lot of YouTube videos that she played in class. She often ended class early despite not finishing the content for that week. The exam questions were worded weirdly and were often confusing. I finished the course with 89.4 and when I asked if she could round me by 0.1% she refused, despite always showing up to class.
good speaker but very disorganized. unfair how she ends the lecture early but, in the exam, she'll still include content she didn't go over & text-book-related questions. don't be discouraged if you get her, just memorize the textbook. i did well but it was at the cost of my mental health since i stayed up reading for hours...
I basically taught myself majority of the material because she decides to never finish a lecture, she plays more videos than teach as the semester goes on. Midterms and final exams are filled with textbook questions. She'll say stuff in class casually and put it on the exam without it on the slides.
I have never received a grade as low as I did in Dr.Ornsteins' class, especially since I read the textbook, did the practice questions, and attended every lecture. Her exams are horrifically difficult and never based on material she taught in class, she just shows videos instead of teaching. Huge waste of $1200 and a space on my transcript.
Tisha Ornstein seems like a kind and sweet person, however the course itself was so dry and boring. I enjoyed the amount of videos she provided as it helped me learn, but the tests are pretty much all textbook content and you have to know it all. I've never read this much for a course in my life. Even so, I did pretty poorly on all the exams.
she plays more videos in class than actually lecturing. makes it hard to focus and pay attention. is very disorganized, lowkey doesn't know enough bio to teach the course lol
RUN. I truely made me contemplate how badly I needed this psych degree. Literally included zero learning and all tests. She gives you no criteria, no instruction, no feedback and no joy whatsoever, at all. R.U.N.
I don't understand the negative reviews of this prof. In my experience, she made the best out of a boring, content heavy course. Her tests were simple, you could easily get an A without even looking at the textbook. She's a standard marker on assignments, so no complaints there. Her assignments were even kind of easy, as one wasn't a paper.
She didn't give good feedback and was disorganized. Participation mattered and the discussions were the best part of the course. However, about halfway through, there were only presentations, which made participation marks harder to receive as many presentations were closed-ended and questions seemed rather forced than genuine.
