He is very rude and very unclear what he exactly expects with his unique teaching style.
great prof just messed up on final
The Spawn of Evil
You're better off getting help from a homeless person on campus than from Yokota. He loses his temper easily and will insult or belittle you if you can't follow his specific teaching style, which is completely different from that of any other professor in the program.
I have PTSD related to meeting professors at office hours because of him.
He has a lot of insider knowledge of NASA and the industry. He has his own teaching philosophy, which is fine, but his attitude and personality make it unnecessarily difficult for students to adjust to his expectations. He is very condescending and demonstrates poor manners during office hours.
Dr Yokota is a really good prof, might I say the best prof I've had so far in aerospace engineering. His lectures are actually good, he doesn't use slides and his lectures are very engaging. Don't take what he says personally, he might be a bit degrading at times but put that aside and focus on the content he is teaching and you'll be good.
Course is really tough until it clicks, and then it isn't anymore. He explains concepts in person far better than his written notes do, so come to class. He's super lenient with the grading (I know someone who got a 25% on the first quiz but finished the course with an A+) and he will answer literally any question you have during his office hours.
