- tends to ramble but gr8 ideas - interactive class w/ guest speakers & field trips - lotsa writing but tht gets u to rly understand course material - super helpful w/ students & kind, offers gr8 feedback on ur work - also something i appreciate is how she tells ppl to shut up but in a courteous way so othr students get some speaking time too
I DO NOT recommend taking this proff! Her lectures were all over the place, which made it extremley difficult to take notes and were extremely boring. Attendance was mandatory and she is an extremely tough grader. She gives really good study guides for finals. This was not an easy course.
REALLY nice person and seems to be very educated on her topic, however, she does not know how to teach her stuff. She is always all over the place and does not give clear instruction on what she expects for assignments. She does however, give you exactly what will be on the final and midterm, but, it is graded VERY hard.
Educated on her subject (gender studies), however unrealistic when it comes to what to expect from students. If you want a prof who doesnt really know what they are doing in terms of evaluations and expectations of students, then shes great.
If you like boring classes about nothing, then it's for you. You will not learn anything, moreover you will not have a clue what she's talking about. Waist of time and money. Carol Lynn is fair marker but a little bit obsessed with feminism. Too much boring and long readings. Take it if you need a good grade.
This class is easy and Carol Lynne is a great prof. I didnt attend class much, because of no participation mark, so I just handed in the essays and wrote the final.
Good prof but a bit stuck on issues of racism & talks about the subject during each lecture. Maybe obsessed with identity politics & racism because she is from the US. This takes time away from other important topics. Course a bit of a downer, lots about womens problems little about powerful women making a difference, but still an important coursel
Not bad, better than okay, you will indeed learn from her.
Very passionate about contemporary mass movements, and cares a lot about her students. Seems somewhat unprepared for lectures, as she lets notes lead her. There are a lot of readings to do in this course, and make sure you like to write, since you'll have to do essays. I learned a lot in this class and from Carol Lynne. Good prof overall.
