Marvyn Novick

Marvyn was one of a kind. Truly wonderful, knowledgeable, passionate instructor. We are grateful to have learned from him and miss him greatly.

Professor expected us to think and reflect on how social policy impacts the macro, mezzo and micro levels of society. Put in 150%; he will move the earth to help you! Concepts and ideas are above a BSW level - more masters. I do not see this as a bad thing. He believes in his students abilities to think and contribute to develop a better society.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT MAN! Novick understands a lot about social policy. He will advocate for students who are enthusiastic and who put effort into learning. His lecture style is very advanced for undergraduates though; a lot of the stuff went over my head at first. He doesn't put up with CRAP! Do not talk out of turn! :)

I love the way people don't like this teacher.Its so funny because he is honestly one of the best. He doesn't put up with **** so if you're full of it stay away. Simple as that. He made me realize that I was in the right program, the only professor to do so in my Ryerson career. Awesome prof!

This guy does not like one who contradicting his opinion. He creates an unsafe learning environment with his belittling and aggression. He has truth to share but it is lost in his inability to have an ongoing dialogue.

Tough marker, but fair. Articultes policy at level you will need t be able to once working in the field. Excellent linking of micro-macro. We need more profs. like this teaching. Passionate and compassionate. We NEED more grounded, progressive, and informed voices like Marvyn's that move beyond angry virtue rhetoric. Thanks for an education!

Creepy. Worthwhile course, if you can handle verbal abuse and belittlement. SOn't take it personlly, he's an angry man.

Good guy...very articulate

Marvyn Novick is brilliant, kind, radical, progressive and very, very wise. He taught me things I think about and draw on every single day. He is approachable and caring despite a rough exterior. He is almost too good for this world while but we need him!!!
