I don't recommend you take any classes with her. Some professors are not committed to teaching, Janet is one of them. Poor clarity.
A pretty good teacher, she would help you when you dont understand something. The course itself is pretty lame, site around in a circle and discuss random things. I would recommend her.
What a breath of fresh air. Finally a professor that pushes you to think. She truly gets the purpose of higher learning - it is about challenging and exploring current thought - not about memorizing the numbers and nitty gritty details. If you open your mind and learn to think critically about health and about food and nutrition you will grow!
Janet is very helpful, however a little vague. She's easy to approach to and replies to emails really fast.
This was a very lovely course. Dr Chappell is a very professional and compassionate professor who can at times bring in a refreshing perspective to a topic being discussed. I really appreciate the support she provided beyond words. Her dedication to students is outstanding. She is inspirational: ***** I wish I got a higher mark though but w/e:D
Very nice, open, and funny. Easy marker just wants to see a bit of effort. Found her explanations of assignments to be very confusing but if you see her privately she's much better at explaining and actually cares that you understand.
Janet, is one of the nicest teachers and teaches with her heart. This course seems like it should be one of the simple ones(in the nutrition) but it really isn't. It is a lot of work and takes more than doing your work and studying. Marking is done based on the teacher's thought of your work. You can be "smart" and not do well, and vice versa.
Fantastic person. Janet will help you with ANYTHING- she is there for you. If you think she is vague you are not truly listening to what she is saying OR you didn't do the readings- do the readings and it all comes together. everything she does and presents to us has a purpose it's not just fluffy metaphores.
Really smart person. Have no clue what she is talking about in class. Usually my mind wanders, dreaming about other stuff happening in my life. Still, she is very fair and interesting to be around. Enjoys reading your essay so write well and spend a lot of time preparing for each writing assignment
Janet is an extremely bright professional. Her ideas and concepts are beyond what most prof's try to teach. She challenges the mind to expand and is accepting of all students. However, she might work on her clarity. We students are not yet as smart as she is - she needs 2 come down to our level!
