Great Prof, exams were easy. His explanation of concepts were clear and concise. He is a tough grader on labs and projects. Overall experience in this class was positive.

Taking mechanical engineering, this Professor alone made me change the route of my courses/profession. Would have loved to continue studying Thermal Systems but knowing this professor is teaching, I stood clear for the sake of my mental well-being. Taking his class? Perhaps your experience will be different. Good luck have fun.

He always complains against students.

His midterms and exams aren't hard, but in terms of marking the labs and projects, he's really hard on it. He deducts marks not just purely on the quality of the report, also the format like forgot to removed first four digits of student number, didn't use printed format on the cover page. Seriously? Try avoid him at all cost.

He divided the groups team in fully confused way that no one used before and no one understood it and his method was sooo terrible and fairless because some groups were made from three students and other made of five students and he excpect same quality and quantity in the project and lab and he just read form slides

The Good: This guys notes are pure GOLD! I didn't go to a single lecture in the last two months because his notes and assignments are PERFECT practice for his Midterm and Finals. The Bad: Really hard marker for Labs and the Project. If you want that A, you'll have to find a way to spend more time on that project. Not hard, just time consuming.

Easy A class if you do the homework&go through the lecture notes. Buy the book because test&exams are open book. Midterm and exam are fairly easy. Lectures can be better. Labs are VERY hard because he marks them&don't even think about plagiarizing unless you want to get kicked out.

His labs are time consuming. Too focused on format... however this is good at the same time for those interested in higher level studies. His exam was straight forward. No tricks. Teaches well, good use of class notes. Combination of class notes + attending lectures will guarantee at least a A-.

His labs are hard, but open book easy exams are a true gift to an easy A in the class

Prof. Budny is a hard prof, make sure you work really hard on your labs. Do your assigned homework and you will be fine :) Hes hard, but fair.
