You will learn a lot. Power is fair and gives many comments on written work.
The course material isn't that exciting, but Dr. Power was so engaging and always did her best to make an early morning more fun. Tutorials were pretty informal compared to other classes, but she will call on you so watch out.
Dr. Power's lectures were funny and interesting; it was clear that she was passionate and engaged in the material. However, she was extremely unorganized in terms of slide presentations, assignment expectations, and study guides. She was great with providing visual aid, but if you're someone who needs text to learn, her lectures had next to none.
Joey is awesome! Even though I wasn't completely invested in the subject matter at first, Joey put a lot of passion into her teaching, making me actually enjoy the content. Lovely person.
Lectures are overly vague and overall messy. She doesn't use powerpoints but instead uses hand-written notes that she projects onto a screen. She seems very knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches but presents it in a way that is difficult to understand. In seminars, she will pick on you if you do not participate so be aware of that.
Engaging & passionate lectures but poorly formatted, no slides and nothing posted on D2L. If you miss a class, you're screwed. High expectations that are hard to meet due to the vague content + formatting of the class. Rarely gives marks over 75% and never over 85%. Somewhat accommodating but very intimidating. Stay on top of this class.
i took Dr. Powers class and found it really interesting. the problem is that there are tutorials every other week which a huge part of your grade is on, she doesn't give study guides for the midterm or exam, she is not accommodating AT ALL, even if you have accommodations, it's hard to reach her,
the class is relatively entertaining, but her lectures were very long and if you miss a lecture... good luck. it's like being assaulted with information. she's a nice person and very funny but she's not a good prof. avoid taking the class with this prof.
Sweetest prof alive, taught through modules online that you could go back and visit anytime. Readings are heavy but tutorials are engaging, upbeat, fun, and I actually felt like I was learning more through them. Fair grader and specific about what she wants, so just follow instructions. Cares about her students success and wants to help.
One of the sweetest and most caring professors. She gives a ton to read but she's really accomidating and is very passionate about her students. Solid prof, I would definitly take her again
