Such an amazing and kind professor. Genuinely the first person I've met other than The Organic Chemistry Tutor who can actually explain chemistry and make the concepts stick I wish he taught every chem course
Hard course, supposed to weed out. But he makes it doable. Go to lecuture and pay attention, and youll do fine. Labs aren't great, but easy enough. posts practice problems, old exams, and mock exams.
Fills in the skeleton lecture notes in a really slow and easy to understand way. I'm not sure if he has any control over the labs but they are by far the most annoying part of CHY113. Otherwise, just do the practice problems in the textbook and you are good for the tests.
great prof, really fun and nice. your grade is really dependent on three major tests, not a lot of other graded work. i like how he shows how to solve problems in class, very clear and straightforward with his skeleton notes. outside of the lectures, the textbook really prepared me for the tests
He has a little bit of a power kink / superiority complex but he teaches well. It gets boring if you already know the concepts though. He also likes to crack jokes here and there and engages with the class during lectures.
Dr. George is very interactive in his lectures and takes the time to let people ask questions. He always knew when we had an exam that week bc of FYS and was genuinely caring about it. He provides many resources for extra help. He's a funny guy too.
He definitely cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. I found his lectures a little boring though.
Provides skeleton notes to follow the lectures. Very concise and well-spoken. Takes the time to answer any questions during and after lectures.
great prof, teaches concepts simply as long as you pay attention. if you took chemistry in high school and give the smallest effort to practice from the textbook once in a while, its a very easy A+ with him. his annotated notes are also really helpful, only advice is that his mic is a bit quiet for students at the back making it a bit hard to hear
Honestly don't get the hype abt George, he doesn't teach well and just speeds thru examples. Found McWilliams to be better, although he can be a bit mean. If you have to choose choose the one with the better schedule and watch McWilliam's recorded lectures instead. No point going to George's class even though he is nice.
