An amazing professor who is passionate and engaging. He is a fair marker, and provides insightful and detailed feedback. If you're genuinely passionate about history, this class will be amazing. The class may be little difficult if you're not a history major, but it is nonetheless still easy to get high grades.

I have no idea how this prof's rating is this high. He is terrible, his lectures are an endless spiral of talking with little information that's actually important to the course. His assignments don't have a clear grading criteria and he doesn't explain his expectations. Don't take him if you can. Don't trust good reviews.

Straightforward, knowledgeable, and clear- all you can really ask for from a professor. If you are a history major especially, this course will be a breeze for you.

took his class because i thought the subject matter was interesting and bc my friend was in it. i really regret it! i worked with him all term and had check-ins and no matter how hard i tried it wasn't good enough for him. the essay i wrote that he LOOKED OVER AND COMMENTED ON, gave me a 60%. he doesn't care if you fail, LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS!

i have no clue HOW this prof has so many good reviews. he's awful. he marks unusually hard, he is not accessible outside of class and he's rude and doesn't care if you have any problems whatsoever

i have no clue why there are so many good reviews. I told him i had family issues at the time so couldn't meet during office hours he basically told me, "too bad". he talks really fast, doesn't give lots of clarification and expects you to grasp all the concepts immediately. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. the exam and midterm are NOT open book!!!

Marks hard, for the tutorials it's everyone speaking over each other for marks. No idea why this guy has a rating over 4, he's awful

Great lecturer. Dr. MacKenzie makes his expectations clear, and he is a fair marker. If you put in the effort, you can come away from his class with a good grade.
