He cares about his student's learning and success. Attend his lectures and do a couple challenging practice problems from the textbook using his outline from class. Sure, at times it can be hard to understand his delivery but then you've gotta take the initiative to ask him to clear any concepts for you. Quick email replies.

Legend! If you genuinely show up and engage in class discussion you cant go wrong. He's not perfect but he tries his best to teach you.

Not good for 613 Machine Design 1. he does what RMP guideline #2 says I'm not allowed to say in this rating so it's important for him to like you

he is a good prof and does care about students, his email replies are fast and his office hours are helpful. This is a very hard class so following the lectures is difficult. Just go to class, go to office hours for help, do your best and he will pass you. His midterm is slightly easier then the other profs but the final was the same for all of us

Passionate, but not the best lecturer. I found him hard to follow but he actually cared. I emailed him a couple times and he responds right away and he tries his best to help. He tries to make each person who attends the lecture pass and hes just an awesome guy. His test questions are overall easier then Bill and Hua lu's questions.

It takes time to understand his teaching method. He does care about our learning. His delivery isn't perfect but at the end of the semester you'll completely learn how he functions and it'd make it very easy for future semesters with him. He is very knowledgeable in pure Mech and is enthusiastic about helping students. Just learn him as a person

Firstly Professor Shudong is a smart and caring person. That being said I would highly advise against taking this class. The difficulty of the content in conjunction with professor's teaching style makes this an absolute pain. Steer clear.

If only his classes had subtitles. Not at all easy to understand. Like his simple words are difficult to understand. Who the heck hired him?

Although he seems passionate about studying, he is very bad at making you understand a concept. He talks way too fast, interrupts a lot and is very hard to follow.

Although he is passioante about what he teaches, he is very bad at transmitting the knowledge. He makes everything complicated. He is very hard to follow. One of the worst profs I ever had.
