John Morgan

I truly feel for newer students who won't get the opportunity to learn from this man. Incredibly knowledgeable. His lectures are nothing short of captivating. Half-ass his class and you will struggle. If you go into his class willing to learn, you'll succeed. Simple as. Generous, though a tough marker. A wonderful prof and an even better man.

As an elective the course load is heavy, lots of reading and retention. Interesting topics but not by any means easy.

Being in engineering, taking his HST111 course as a liberal was a very bad idea (workload, etc), but I really, REALLY enjoyed it and was immensely sad when I had to drop it. It was amazing. The energy he brings to his lectures, the enthusiastic and concise way he tells you about the topics. Seems like an awesome man, and an even more awesome prof.

Difficult to follow sometimes during lectures and sometimes goes on a tangent which causes confusion but overall a great history teacher if I ever saw one!

Dr. Morgan is a very kinda man. He is very understanding and provides helpful feedback on assignments! Beware, he tends to be a hard marker!

I really enjoyed the course! One of my favorite prof! If you are looking for an easy pass this is not for you. Dr. Morgan is old school, so don't expect much online communication, not lecture uploads, so if you miss a class you better have a buddy that has taken notes. He is so knowledgeable and great to listen to, I would take any course with him

So far my favorite prof. The course is very heavy and be prepared for a LOT of writing and note-taking, as Dr. Morgan is old school - no email, no postings, no online grades, nothing. He gives lectures and you're expected to keep up, but they're awesome to listen to and you do learn a lot about filtering information and organizing your notes. 10/10

I took Elizabethan as a liberal and so glad I did. I have never sat in a more engaging lecture. Morgan is very thorough and truly wants his students to understand and appreciate history. He's a bit of a tough marker because he wants you to be as specific as possible. Attendance mandatory!

Dr. Morgan is so passionate about his field and so engaging. I took this as one of my electives and I enjoyed the class, however, coming from TRSM, I had never taken a history class before, so I found this class to be very demanding. DON'T take this class if you're expecting an easy grade. I learned a lot and worked my butt off, but got mid 70s!

Dr Morgan is the best professor I ever had! His lectures are never boring and he explains the topic really clear. You won't fall asleep in this class. Attend every lecture, read chapters, and you will pass with A.
