Worst prof ever. I learned absolutely nothing from her. Her accent is one thing but even if there was no accent she cant convey her ideas. Her homework solutions are completely incomprehensible and lectures a waste of time. I don't know who let her teach at all! I hope someone from the school board reads this and reconsiders her position as a prof.
She was the absolute worst prof I had in bachelor and masters.
Forget about the accent, she covers no problem solving questions in class, uses an $80.00 textbook thats in imperial, and supplies notes that not even your GAs can understand, just pray you pass and you have helpful GAs
Professor Straka creates a difficult learning environment due to the high level of understanding she expects students to already possess, as well as her inflexibility of teaching style. Her lectures are very confusing as she fails to fully break down and actually teach course content. Your best chance at understanding is by contact with the GAs.
You're gonna have to learn the whole course on your own. Don't expect her to do anything.
Ryerson arch is great but seriously an ENGINEER could not be the Director of an architecture school. Plus, you have to learn structure by yourself. She might be a nice old lady but really not good at education. Sorry I don't want to be mean.
WORST PROF EVER. I love all things to do with physics and thought this would be a good course but it was the exact opposite. She tells the class to ask questions BUT when we do she gets frustrated, angry and makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Not helpful and very disorganized. My advice, GET A TUTOR AND PRAY
I hated her class & she screwed everyone over on the final exam. She is not clear at all & I don't think it's just because of her accent but I also believe it's bec she expects you to know more than you do in 1st year. I also think she is one of the worst teachers for arch because she is an eng prof & doesn't understand arch students' mentality.
Wasted lecture hours talking about basic theory high school level. Her accent makes her theories sound 'complex'. Then real no lab hours for a "lab course", no text book resources to practice questions, ones on outlines are there to cover professors a**. They tell you not use them it will mix you up with their "cut and paste" lectures "notes".
Can't say anything...she think she is the best..(no excuse), however she should know her position. I will suggest to change ur section when u get her as an instructor.
