Attended his introduction to astronomy class this semester, midterm exam and final exam were similar to the iClicker questions he does in class. Easy 20% if you attend every class. Marking is very lenient. Final Project is annoying, but doable.

Very dense lectures, tests overall. This is not the elective course you are looking for.

I really appreciated the prof's flexibility with grading, even if you have a rough start you have a chance to catch up and bring your grades up later with re-weighting which saved me. Not easy but fair, and such a kind and caring prof who truly loves teaching

Prof. Winch is an amazing and enjoyable professor who teaches a highly entertaining and informative course. There is a significant aspect of in class participation, but also a large amount of forgiveness. you will NEED to attend 66% but ideally 80% of lectures to get a good grade. There is amazing flexibility in the formats of the assignments.

He is a nice prof and he's really caring. Wants to see you succeed. His tests are lowkey hard but the class itself is hard so its not really his fault.

Great professor. Very enthusiastic during lectures and seems to love what he teaches. I recommend this class to anyone looking for a good elective and a great prof.
