Joeffer is one of the best professors in the TMU Fashion program. He arrives early to welcome students and creates a comfortable, supportive atmosphere with his sense of humour. He is always available for help and often checks in during busy lab periods to give feedback. I hope we have more professors like him in our program.
As a professor, he is very nice to his students. He greets students in the hallways, is open to helping after class and is understanding. One important thing to know is that you must stay on top of your work, especially doing all the homework. He can be confusing, particularly for beginners on understanding patterning/sewing and can talk fast.
Joeffer is an incredibly dedicated teacher who you can tell genuinely cares for his students. He goes beyond what I've seen from any other teacher to help his students succeed. He may be tough and specific on his grading, but his expectations are clear and fair. If you show up, put in the hard work and time, you will succeed!
The negative reviews here say that he never offers help. Fact of the matter is he is SUPER helpful! He is generous with his time and wants nothing more than to see his students succeed! However, if you don't put in the work yourself he is not going to bail you out. It's tough love, don't be upset that a poor work ethic got exactly what it deserved
Genuinely so helpful to have as a teacher, he is a tough grader for sure it's a very difficult class but he is so so helpful and will take the time to make sure you succeed. I've never had such a helpful and inspiring prof. Really takes the time to make sure you understand what you're doing and will push you to challenge yourself.
One of the best professors I've had. He's tough, but in the best way, he genuinely cares about his students and wants us to succeed. He's very understanding, open to accommodations, and always willing to help if you put in the effort. On top of that, he's funny and makes class engaging. You can tell he really cares about teaching.
I hope this helps at least one person to not make the mistake of taking his class. he was absolutely the worst teacher i have ever had. when asked a question he answered i can't do your assignment for you while literally sewing other student's project for them right in front of me and the funny thing is they weren't even his students.
always available but never helps. office hours are such a waste. if you ask him a wuestion you will never get the answer, instead you'll get mocked or worse you get a rude or unfunny joke.
Very caring and helpful instructor. Available for office hours and gets back with emails very quickly. He tries his best guiding students with their skills and is very straightforward with his students work.
Demos were poorly done, when asking questions answers were unclear and sometimes irrelevant. Student success is not prioritized and criticism was never constructive or helpful.
