He does not know the stuff

The course was difficult with Navid, and I failed it, which delayed my graduation.

Prof. Navid has zero concerns for his students. He merely reads from the slides and does not know anything outside of them. He never responds to emails, and tardiness is a common occurrence with him. I've never encountered a more indifferent professor before.

Prof weirds me out, also read the textbook

The lab assignments, except maybe one, were not only extremely tedious and difficult, but also unrelated to the course material. The examinations are just memorization of meaningless facts. Professor's lectures are a time waste so get ready to read the textbook. Sad that such an crucial subfield of computer science is taught in such a poor manner

The professor reads off slides that he is not familiar with in the lectures. His explanations of course material are oftentimes wrong and therefore it is not in the student's best interest to attend the lectures. The tests are simply rote memorization of hundreds of unrelated facts, with the labs being completely irrelevant and time consuming.

If you don't want PTSD for 616, do not take him

Professor Esfahani is very approachable. It's important to practice the examples from his lectures and debug room for coding tests. Focus heavily on the written tests since that's where most of the marks come from. The coding exams can be tricky and it was difficult to score well on them. I can't stress this enough lock in for the written tests!

The absolute worst professor I have ever had in my entire Undergraduate. Makes the course so unnecessarily difficult. Please drop this course if you recieved this professor and take it another time. His exams are so mathematically notation heavy and hyper specific. You don't really know how to prepare for his exams.

This is the first and only review I have ever written on a professor. This course was horrible and so unnecessarily difficult. Spent more time learning notation and the course was so all over the place.
