The course has lots of useful concepts, but the professor makes it harder. She has been a ghost the whole semester, and extremely grades low. This will kill your GPA. Stay away. She might blame you for cheating in the writing section of the exams. Be careful with her.
On the first day of class, she said that all we needed to do was attend lectures and we would be fine. I did exactly that, yet almost none of what she taught in class appeared on the midterm or the final exam. She does not respond to emails and spends too much time boasting about herself. Don't be fooled by her jokes or charisma.
One of the worst professors I have had in my entire university career. Very disorganized with course material, does not respond to emails at all, and takes months to mark 2 page assignments. The midterm and final is online (lockdown browser) so make sure to study before! Midterm and final is EXTREMELY hard. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!
She only talks about how she loves court and her research on the jury. Lecture notes are more useless than the lecture slides. When she teaches, its more confusing than the lecture itself. 10/10 dont reccommend
This professor is horrible. She does not respond to emails. No reply to 2 emails sent over a month ago. Her assignment is in 2 parts. She has not returned part 1 yet and part 2 is due in two. She has posted 2 messages since the course started. I will never take one of her courses again. No concern for her students what so ever.
I could go on and on but I guess there's a word limit to this so in essence; it is evident through Dr. Burke's demeanour, that she is at the University to conduct research and not teach. Her neglect of the course and its students is extremely disrespectful.
Fun professor? Sure. She's the popular aunt that gets loose in a party mistaking booze for water. As a prof though? Just no. Biggest issue was those lacking slides and no explanation on what we really need to know, her mcqs are absolutely confusing. Get ready to get a less grade than you usually get, she designs her courses for ur failure anyway
pros: engaging and entertaining lecturer, seems to be forgiving with late submissions, and she's kind. cons: ignores emails, very unclear assignment instructions and grading, and lectures only have like 2/3 of the content so you have to read the textbook
