Meaghan Mechler

Absolutely LOVE Dr. Mechler. She genuinely cares about what she teaches and wants students to succeed. Very accommodating and is always available outside of class for additional support. She is such a breath of fresh air! Lectures are not too content heavy, and she goes over what to expect on the midterm/final. Very thorough in her feedback too!

EUS 501 and EUS 601 were very enjoyable with Professor Mechler. Her knowledge was very evident during her informative lectures. very understanding and down to earth person who cares about her students. highly recommend. Put in the work and you will see results, very fair with marking.

Dr. Mechler is the best professor I have ever had, so inspirational and motivating. I highly suggest attending the lectures although they are not necessary to pass, provided slides include all tested information! :)

Probably my favourite prof at TMU! Dr. Mechler is just wonderful; so kind, caring, and reasonable. I had Botany with her, and thoroughly enjoyed it due to her passion for plants! We were able to choose between a midterm or weekly quizzes + assignments, which were very fun! The final exam was very fair and based on the lectures! :)

It is obvious that she genuinely wants her students to do well in her classes, as well as in their careers. She's committed to preparing students for the work world/life after being an undergrad, which many other profs don't do. Accommodating for those who have different learning styles. Fair marker, but make sure to study for the in-person exams.

Had her for botany last semester. She is very nice and understanding, explains material very thoroughly. Her exams and marking are fair (make sure to attend lectures) Would love to have her again as my prof.

I took BLG230 (Botany) with her and she is my pookie. She is a nerd about plants and is very passionate about them. She tries to make class engaging + tells you what's on the exam (graded SUPER fair — easy 100 if you review)! She is trying her best managing a new course! Lecture slides are good — might need to review photosynthesis independently.

Extremely knowledgeable and interesting professor with engaging lectures. Very reasonable with expectations. Tries to make class as interesting as possible with lecture specific guest speakers to engage with about topics we are learning. Overall the best professor I've had at TMU and highly recommend anyone to take her classes

I'm pretty sure Dr. Mechler is a new prof because she was talking about applying for a permanent position. She's really intelligent and easily likeable. There were some components that were a little harder than others but overall she did a really great job at laying everything out for the class and her teaching style is great.
