This course was already unnecessarily time consuming, many small assignments that don't add up to much. My dad died last Sunday and this prof asked me to " try my best to complete the weekly tasks" starting this week. Despite my ACR and basic human empathy, anyways, if you can avoid this class, do yourself a favour and pick another class.
Never in my four years of University have I found it necessary to write a rate my prof. Avoid this course like the plague; exams are tough, five assignments are worth 2%. With over 1200 pages of memorization, an accent from a professor that is difficult to understand, this course is by far the most time-consuming course I have taken at TMU.
As someone already mentioned way too high maintenance for a lower liberal. Don't take this course under this professor had to sit for a midterm with 60 questions which need to be answered in an hour, you need to use a lockdown server. Three midterms and weekly assignments plus project work. Avoid at all costs.
Midterms and final were okay, everyone got 70s. Marked essay so hard, have to do every point strictly down to the T. Took marks from an entire section for one mistake. Don't recommend, rather pay more by not taking Chang if it's a different professor. This course can be fun with the right professor, with Junyan Zhang it is not.
Biggest waste of money taking this class with this professor. Midterms average are in the 70s and the final exam average was also in the mid 70s. A big paper worth 30% which she marks very hard on also drops your grade down. You are better off sending me 600 dollars instead of taking this class with her.
Overall a good prof and an easy course. It had two midterms, a term paper and a final. The midterms weren't too hard but the term paper was marked a bit strictly. Final was also okay. It's just her accent can be a bit tricky to understand sometimes but she is really nice.
She's a fair prof, only thing is her final term project was marked strict. Overall a very manageable course.
If you're taking CGEO 110, avoid this prof at all costs. Makes the course way too high maintenance for a liberal. Had two midterms, a term paper and a final exam (none of which were easy). She marks really tough on the term paper as well. If you're looking for an easy GPA booster, this is not it. I suggest enrolling with literally any other prof.
An OK course but wish I took something else. Can't understand the prof's accent, had to rely on reading the textbook and lecture slides. Grading on the term presentation is hard and picky. Her sending an announcement to say the grades are final and that we're not defined by them is kind of telltale about how people perceive her grading.
