claude gravel is by far the Killian Hayes of TMU
Absolutely one of the worst professors I've ever had, uses AI to generate his slides before class, reads off the slides, and occasionally solves a couple questions in very hard to read handwriting while skipping steps as he "expects you to know them." Difficult pop quizzes throughout the semester, most of which is never covered during lectures.
Baffles me how terribly a course can be organized. 50% of the final grade is based on quizzes, yet the quiz dates are not announced in advance. The way he enunciates words makes him very hard to understand.
Random quizzes at 8am. Waste time by not saying when the quizzes are. Bad lecturer makes concept harder than required.
Probably the worst professor I've had yet. Random quizzes that are worth 50% of our grade is absurd.
Very poor lecturer and poor delivery of the course. Lectures and slides are both difficult to understand. Low averages on tests required relatively heavy curving. However he is friendly with explanations when asked questions.
PROF got his lecture slides from A.I and expects "humans" to learn the content like a "computer". If he's the only course for CPS688, don't take it. Save yourself from PTSD,TRAUMA,SELF-DOUBT and many more dehumanizing experience/
This guy freestyles his lectures. He doesnt do the examples and expects us read the MATHEMATICAL examples. He takes extremely long pauses in the middle of his extremely difficult-to-follow speeches. He uses previous professors notes and clearly doesnt prepare before class because he takes a minute to read over each slide before talking about it.
It's better to go through the textbook rather than attending lecture. It doesn't make much of a difference. Didn't get any extra points from lecture just make someone read the textbook for you, that's exactly how the lecture goes.
It's better to learn by yourself. Not much of difference attending lecture or just going through the textbook.
