his ineptitude to effectively teach is rivaled only by Laurel Walzak. His lectures will be based around his experiences which on its own is fine, but he will go off on tangents with 0 relevance to course information. The quizzes are near impossible if done with academic integrity, but the TAs saved the exam by making it easy (He wasn't at the exam)
attempting to understand this man's flow charts felt like cosplaying thomas in the maze runner except your feet are tied together and you're wearing a blindfold the whole time
What a nightmare. One of the worse profs I've had in terms of clarity. He spent a lot of time speaking about his personal experience, and shows lots diagrams that were difficult to follow. Overall, the lectures were very bad but the course material itself is important and fun. Make sure to stay on top it yourself.
Michael is a smart guy, but he may be best suited for a lab class. In lectures, he spent a lot of time speaking about his personal experience, and he showed diagrams that were difficult to follow. There was a tremendous amount of new information flowing at once, and it was hard to keep up. Michael did seem like a nice guy, and answered questions.
Michael has a lot of industry experience and if you really pay attention, you learn a lot of stuff at once. But for teaching a mandatory first years class, I don't think he was an appropriate fit. If you're someone that like to do the bare minimum, I would not recommend his classes. The bare minimum for success is a lot higher than most classes.
Professor Nunan is a nice guy with tons of interesting industry experience. However, the positives end there. He unfortunately stretches out his tangents for far too long and makes it unclear when information is important. When it came time to do the tests, the material was not really reflective of the lectures. The final exam was very easy though.
Somehow managed to write an open book 40 question quiz available ONLINE for 24 hours (worth 25% of our grade) extremely poorly. Despite having resources available, half the class failed the first quiz, with the class average being 50%. His quiz questions are convoluted and vague, and the following 2 quizzes had my peers sitting in the 60% range.
He clearly has interesting life experience but my god these lectures are some of the most unbearable things I've and many of my peers have endured. Graded on 3 insanely difficult tests and 1 exam based on those tests. Maybe instead of being rude after realizing nobody likes you improve your lectures to be more fun?? Give us little essay even?
