Don't be deterred by the reviews, she's a fantastic professor! Her lectures are really engaging and she actually made IT seem somewhat interesting by using great real-world examples to explain certain concepts. Be aware that the weekly quizzes are password protected. Read the textbook along with the slides and you'll do well in this course.
Professor Stamenova was a great professor. I was worried after reading reviews here, but after taking her class, I cannot recommend her enough. Her lectures include a substantial amount of content; however, to perform well on the exams, I would suggest reading the textbook. Quizzes are password-protected, but I still greatly appreciated the class.
- explains lecture material very clearly - weekly quizzes are online but you need a password to access them (passwords are only given during the lectures) - makes the lectures interesting even if the material is boring
Be prepared to teach yourself the material. She just reads off the slides and doesn't engage with the class often. Read the textbook before class if you can for the best advantage and time maximization.
Reads off her slides and stands still to deliver monotone lectures. Tests hard, even when they are open book, and very little relates to the course content. Accuses students of using AI and deducts marks even when this was absolutely not the case and gives very little constructive feedback.
easy course but delivered pretty heavily. The midterm was pretty tough as the class average was a 55%. the assignment case study also had a pretty low average of around 55-60 which should say enough. Class slides are useless you have to read the textbook which is around like 30 pages of reading per week.
Her lecture and slides are pretty useless. I regret taking ITM 102 with her. I dropped ITM102 and took with other prof. Other prof teaches so much better. Her exam is extremely hard compare to what she teaches.
When I say I got an A- don't take it as it's an "easy course". I just knew how to study and learn the content myself, that's how I escaped the hellfire. Sucks for those who need prof's guidance as this prof just relies on slides and skims through it for 2-3 hours straight.
If you get this prof, I feel sorry for you. The only way to pass is to simply study the content yourself. This prof would just read off the slides and not make what she says understandable. And obviously, don't be dependant on her slides else failing is guaranteed.
Too much content in the course and no such adjustments, at least let us have a crib sheet or make it open-book. Forcing us to memorize cumulative course content and then asking us such questions. At least give us the whole word of a term (ex. instead of TPS on MC, put Transaction Processing System)...too many questions for MC then case study SMH.
