He is an okay professor. I got 80 on all cases, presentation and even on final. The only feedback given on all assignments was great work, keep it up with no feedback on how to improve. Only managed to get 90 on one case. Not sure what his expectations were. Passed the courses with A- (80). If I have to take him again, I would love to take.
Overall, caring professor and course revolves around group presentation and participation. Fair marker and course is really doable as long as effort is put in.
Not a good grader at all. I am crying
Would definitely not recommend. If you are okay with getting on average low marks then maybe you can consider. I think his expectations are too high that's why he grades like this
He will put your morale down, so if you take him, get ready for that! Extremely tough grader and makes it unnecessarily hard for students to do well, even if they attend classes and stay consistent with class work. And you will see him grading on average, so if u a get 70, you will only get around 70 regardless of how much u improve from feedback!
Marks fairly and provides good feedback to do better on case reflections.
Professor Brian Poth is a nice teacher, but his slides are dull and hard to sit through. The midterm and final were unnecessarily challenging, making it tough for no apparent reason. On the good side, the other assignments are more manageable and can help boost your grade.
The problem I have with Prof. Poth is that his midterm and final were just too unreasonable, the amount of knowledge you have to retain for them plus the lack of fluency in his slides. The concepts were so poorly described and established that you have to self-teach yourself to pass.
