Wani is very uninspiring. Lectures included very surface-level information, she didn't share her experiences in the industry, and simply reads off the slides. I regretted going to lecture every time I attended. Weekly quizzes based on readings. The assignments were very confusing, but after clarification, very easy and didn't take a lot of time.
Answers all student questions, which is nice but it can take a while to get through. Class material regarding funding is outdated by 10 years. Expectation are clear and she does a great job of reviewing before exams. Participation is graded.
She's nice and it's easy to succeed in the class with minimal stress. Lectures were a bit rough to get through in terms of engagement but honestly it's a hard topic to make engaging.
At first, I had a lot of reservations about this RTA908 and found Rua not engaging as a teacher. However, as an RTA student, I found that I learned so much about the industry in this course compared to any other classes I've taken in RTA. This class is hard work, but you get so much valuable information out of it.
RTA 908 taught by professor Rua Wani is by far my favourite class I have taken in my media production degree thus far. Rua teaches very clearly, and will always elaborate further if asked. I see myself being able to apply what I learned in this class in many ways. One piece of feedback I would give her is to be more engaging in her lectures.
She thinks she knows everything, however the only times I felt like I learned anything was when there were guest speakers who actually had experience. She also is way to slow and just reads slides, than makes you go home after a 3 hours lecture and watch an hour long documentary to do a quiz every week that's only open for 24 hours.
Rua comes off as trying to sound knowledgeable but just seems clueless. She takes forever to get through material that should take a third of the time to cover & spends half the time pacing around the front of the lecture hall. The only time I enjoyed or learned anything in her class was when we had a guest lecturer. Would not recommend.
Her lectures are just so bad. mumbles and pauses for way too many times. she sounds like she don't know what she's gonna talk about.
My mother is major CDN producer so I have grown up in the ENT industry. Rua has an inflated ego for no reason. Her voice, insufferable and her exam mark distribution is laughable combined with lazy teaching. Avoid at all costs.
