Katty Alhayek

Katty's lectures were engaging, insightful, and highly accessible for students who couldn't regularly attend campus. Her classes fit well into a busy schedule, with quizzes and tests always online. Overall, she fostered a pleasant, stress-free, and nurturing learning environment.

Dr. Alhayek is one of the sweetest profs I've ever had. I've had her for 3 different courses and she has always been engaging and kind. She is also extremely accommodating and easy to talk to which meant a lot because it's hard for me to speak with profs. Her grading is not difficult and cmn472 was an amazing class to take with her!

Listen, nothing in university is going to be a handout or easy. But it's appreciated when a professor makes your time easier than others and that's Katty for you. We all have stuff going on and I feel as she actually doesn't overload us and when we ask for extensions before hand she's lenient just be honest. Highly recommend taking her courses

This class was easy. 2 (1500 word, 25% each) papers, 1 participation (5%) thing, quiz every 2-3 weeks (20% total), 1 final online exam (25%). Textbook, yes. Important? no. Lectures were so so so boring. Prof herself is sweet, but she can't teach. Lectures were not engaging at all. Good thing, they were only 1.5-2 hours long. Allergic to marking!!

Professor Katty is a good professor! The lectures were not that interesting for me, and attendance was not mandatory, but there was weekly participation worth a total of 30% for the class, but honestly, free marks. She provides clear instructions for the presentation assignments so it's not hard to get an A+ if you follow them.

Katty is probably the most comprehensive prof I've had she makes the guidelines and criteria for assignments so clear and is very willing to answer questions about them to make sure you really know what you are doing. She also really wants the students to get engaged as much as she can and you can tell she loves teaching.

Professor Alhayek is an incredible educator and she is so supportive to all students.

Katty is one of my favourite Professors I've had in my four year program. She truly cares about the learning material and uses up to date and relevant information and case studies. Classes are interactive and engaging, as she takes student experiences and interests into account. She's also super accessible and easy to talk to!

I took CMN269. Lectures are usually 1.5 h but with some time dedicated to exchanging opinions on the subject. Attendance isn't 'mandatory', but there is a free participation mark. Plus, quizzes are from lectures, so you should attend if you want to do well on those. Overall, she is a caring professor and does provide clear feedback on time.
