Julie Robertson

Not sure what the other ratings are about. The class is not too challenging at all. A couple multiple choice exams based on the slides in which she stars the slides that we'll get tested on. The essay is straightforward and instructions are clear. I definitely wouldn't call her a hard marker. 15% of the grade is attendance, so you need to show up.

Professor Robertson is an understanding professor with tons of life and academic experience to share. I've taken 4 courses (geo793,607,605,411) and will actively look for her when picking courses. Reasonable course expectations, assignments are fun and reasonable as well. You reap what you sow with professor Robertson, dont skip class is my advice

She was genuinely the best. She was extremely understanding, and her lectures were very interesting. My class was online from 6:30-9;30. Even though I had every reason not to attend her lecture, as I could've easily skipped an online lecture at such an inconvenient time, I was constantly drawn to her lectures.

Julie is a nice engaging professor. I probably wouldn't take this class if you don't plan on attending bc there's weekly participation marks and if it's a split class u dont know which day she will give the in class assignment. So beware of that bc that's where I lost the most marks.

Having taken multiple courses with Julie, she's a down to earth understanding prof that will give you the marks you deserve if you put in the effort. As a returning student, I have had no issues with her grading as I take all assignments seriously , and the free 1.5% for showing upto a tutorial is a blessing Julie is the goat

Slightly attendance heavy (15%), and an essay worth 35% but fairly. Easy to follow lectures and genuinely nice professor who will help if you ask!

She is really passionate about the course content so I personally enjoyed lectures. 15% of the course is attendance which is so easy but only if you can be bothered to attend obv. Midterm is simple 90% or 100% (online), the essay (35%) I did insanely good - my advice is research and use many sources, can be more than just academic journals too!

Nice professor but she graded my assignment like I slimmed out her entire bloodline.

Had her as a TA, she was very easy when marking casual weekly reflections based on lecture content but was less forgiving with a report and final essay assignment. If you're fresh out of high school, make sure to brush up on citing and whatnot or you'll likely unnecessarily lose marks. Was friendly otherwise in tutorials.

9 am labs for a geo course each worth attendance is worth 1.5% each week.
