He is a tough but fair grader. He expects a lot from students, but I also found him to be very accommodating. Read the material before class and come prepared with questions!
This professor is very judgemental when it comes to students not understanding what hes saying. Questions dont get asked. Lectures make no sense. Doesn't say what he expects when it comes to tests. He expects students to know everything. Please do not take him. Avoid him at all costs
Good guy. Accomodating prof, lots of opportunities to gain marks (participation, reading questions, etc). Material is dense but he's good at explaining. Long lectures.
very passionate about his subject and his students, he's very easy to talk to in his office hours, he's not intimidating and unapproachable like some profs are. his classes are challenging and that's not a bad thing. would take him again
We all love him. A great prof, clearly passionate and vastly knowledgeable, and he gives great feedback. Very admirable and kind-hearted. Cares about whether students are retaining and learning from the material. He gives it his all every class even at 8am, what more can you ask for in a prof when reading CPR at that time
Prof. Chulanon is an awe-inspiring person. Very smart, very honest, very artistic. Much appreciated!
Professor Chulanon is among the best philosophy profs I've had at Ryerson! All the reviews which say otherwise are gross over-exaggerations and/or from people who just do not like philosophy enough. . .
the negative reviews are so dramatic lol i really went into this course preparing for the worst and....it was all just fine. his teaching style is nothing special or too horrendous, the course structure is pretty average for a philosophy course. maybe you guys just aren't that smart
absolutely the worst professor BY FAR in the philosophy department, possibly the entire school! he is super condescending, disrespectful, is not clear about what he expects for tests, does not answer questions, his only focus is being the smartest in the room, and says "um" every other word which is extremely distracting. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!
He literally questioned my competence because I did not understand his marking scheme for tests. He gives us review for midterms and finals but is very vague about what constitutes a complete answer. No real feedback. If this wasn't mandatory I would never take it. Every other philosophy professor has been a completely different experience.
