Professor Jona is amazing. The summer course was accelerated but her lectures were (albeit content-heavy sometimes) super interesting. She was also very nice to talk to and accommodating. Definitely one of the better crim profs at UofT, highly recommended!
- Took her CRI205 class at UofT, she was an instructor. - Extremely unreasonable. - Changed the syllabus & rubrics for assignments aft the due date, tough grader. - Said that our quizzes were open book & that we could use notes but after the quiz she said that we weren't supposed to. - cannot handle feedback, rude & was almost in tears in class.
I'm pretty sure she writes her own reviews
She provides a very detailed final exam review document. It totally saved me.
Her final exam review saved me. Never had a prof basically prepare a review document with notes and all for you.
She gives bonus assignments which really helped me boost my grades in my last year. Very helpful and accommodating with extensions and had great guest speakers. Had a special lecture on her own research which was very interesting. You can tell she is genuinely passionate about immigration.
This was her first time teaching and I think she did great. The course was a little reading heavy but she is really nice and helpful and cares about students. I learned a lot and she encouraged me to take a minor in crim. Also gave me a great reference letter and advice for graduate school when other profs didn't even respond to my email about it.
She was great. There is a ton of profs that have been doing this for decades and absolutely suck. Full detailed rubric is on D2L. Maybe some ppl don't know where to look. Would recommend!
I feel like there are better professors out there for this course. She posted the final exam 90 minutes late and wasn't even on the Zoom call during it. She is a tough marker and there is a rubric but it's basically useless since there's nothing on it. Hard to pay attention in class. Hopefully, she gets better over the years. Just ok.
Honestly, one of the most caring and accessible profs I've had in my four years. Material-heavy, but she does a good job of simplifying it and I learned so much. The assignments are straightforward, fair and she gives bonus opportunities. There was a rubric so not sure why the other review said that. And her personal story is incredibly inspiring!
