True to the nature of CRM101, Dr. Samuels-Wortley is another great professor. Her exams are based on lecture and textbook material, but if you read the textbook, take notes, and use her good slides you will succeed (the course is overall light, but do put in some baseline effort on major assessments). On her final essay, she also graded fairly.
She is very kind and understanding and gave us an extension for our essay, she also made a review for the final exam for us. However, her tests are hard because theres just so much information to memorize. The lectures are extremely boring because once again theres just a lot of information.
Her lectures were super boring, but not her fault since the material itself was boring. Attend the lectures and take your own notes because she adds questions regarding things she said on tests. Also, attend tutorials and watch videos; she also adds questions on that to the tests. She was a tough grader in terms of essay writing.
You can tell that she cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her lectures are interesting and she is very knowledgeable about her field and frequently refers to her research to explain concepts and how the impact of the criminal justice system on racialized communities. She has been very accommodating and adapts to the class's needs.
