Although boring at times, this course gives a good introduction to Greek Philosophy and teaches you some of the philosophical basics for future courses. Professor O'Reilly is a great facilitator and seems like a great person. Her assignments are fairly simple and she offers a lot of participation marks.
Fantastic prof - she really cares a lot about her students and is very accessible outside class for additional help. I really enjoyed taking her course and would definitely take another class with her if I could!
Dr. O'Reilly is the best - she knows what she wants to see in your work so can be construed as a hard marker at first, but you adapt quickly. Listen intently and participate as much as your brain will allow.
dropped the course bc readings per week was 100pgs, recommended section out of the avg 100pgs readings were about 50pgs. i don't need that as a liberal lol
She is clearly very passionate in her field and is incredibly intelligent. Her lectures were always great, but the essays are graded harshly and it is difficult to know immediately how to write them. However, she provided many essay tips to ease the process and provided some essay examples for the final essay. She is lenient with deadlines too.
Dr. O'Reilly is extremely kind and attentive. She made content accessible - lectures were posted as videos and optional live discussion sections every week. You're graded with an exegesis, midterm, final essay, and participation. Midterm was marked harshly but participation and exam make up for it. Written assignments were surprisingly short. 10/10
