Need to attend every class to succeed. Lot of assessments (4 comprehension tests, 4 production ) but doable if you preparee. Great teacher tho, fair marker. I recommend creating a Canva/Doc of every sign for the sentence she gives you ahead of time for the production test since its easier to memorize that way. Homework was tedious but easy.
Overall a very nice professor. The course has simple homework with a few tests. Funny and engaging lessons, but you have to attend every session as there will be a lot of vocabulary and words you have to keep up with (as well as canadian variations, so make sure not to get mixed up if you use online resources to supplement your learning).
Such a great teacher , just study a lil for tests , homework is a lot but easy.
Professor Kerr is a super cool and fun teacher. She makes you feel comfortable and encourages you to do your best. There are 2 short papers, a lot of homework, midterm and final exam. Homework is a lot but easy. Exams are easy if you practice. She is fair with the marks and it is very possible to get an A+. I learned a lot. Definitely recommend!
ASL 101 was a pleasure with Professor Kerr. She was understanding, patient and just generally fun to learn from. The actual work in the class is not too difficult, but you do need to stay on top of the basic vocabulary and lessons, if you fall too far behind you will have some annoying cramming sessions ahead of you.
Professor Kerr is one of my favorite professors at Ryerson, HANDS DOWN! She is still new but her method of teaching ASL made me want to learn more even though its considered a bird course. She is so funny and she makes lectures really fun. Assignments and quizzes are not hard at all if you just study a bit. She's awesome!
