She's a really nice person and I found her readings to all be pretty interesting. Tests and assignments were straightforward. I just really think she needs to reorganize how she does lectures, because it was very repetitive. She had zero control over the class and was not tech-savvy. Likes to talk about Game of Thrones and Marvel as examples.

Amazing prof! While there was a bit of reading, the curriculum was eye-opening, and I learned so much. Dr.Hosein's lectures were clear and insightful, making the readings easier to understand. She provided clear instructions, gave great feedback, and truly had a positive impact on my education. Highly recommend!

She is brilliant. She teaches a variety of super interesting topics. The class is a lot and you need to read so much but the tests are so easy. She records the lectures which is great. She is very accommodating and understanding and will support you if needed.

The class was a lot lighter than I expected, despite the heavy reading material. The work in this course is pretty easy to do as well. Safiyya also records the lectures for anyone unable to attend. Expect her to ramble about her fixation with Game of Thrones though.

Professor hosein was my favourite professor during my curating at TMU. Her lectures were informative, straight to the point, and very relatable. She made knowledge and learning fun while being informative. This was a very easy A course you just have to actually listen to what the Professor is saying. I would take a course with her again 100%

Safiyya was great from the first day of class. Teaching the topic of Women in Islam,she did a great job explaining and being inclusive towards those who may not have been of that demographic. She was very accommodating and understanding in the event of needed support and the overall experience of the course was A1. If you see this course take it!

Can be very aggressive and spiteful Believes she has authority to tell you how much extra time is needed (goes against AA guidelines) Barely touched on actual aesthetics Got a good mark in the course but instructions were extremely vague Grading system was actually insane our first assignment due in the second week and was worth 40% and max 400 wrd

Extremely unclear about assignments and tests. Passive-aggressive, will attack students if they do not agree with her beliefs.
