I had prof Shelly for a few courses. I purposefully look for courses she is teaching. She is smart, down to earth, passionate and just gets students. Assignments are straightforward, her feedback is best and assignment expectations are clear so no surprises. You tend to want to attend her class and participate - best path to an A. Best prof I had!
Shelly was a really great professor! Very understanding of the students outside lives and very accommodating. It's very clear she cares a lot about what she does and her lectures are really engaging!
CLD307 was by far one of the best ive taken. It was online in the evenings but like you wanna attend because the lecture is only 2 hours and I can listen to her all day. she has lots of wisdom to share.I took other courses with Shelly and her social justice views are inspiring. There is an hour seminar which is mainly discussions...good balance.
Took CLD103 and CLD101 with Shelly. Shelly cares! She asks your opinions to make things better. She has a mix of in class engagement activities, lecture, and weekly tests, no exams thank goodness. She marks better than the TAs do. She is down to earth andI love talking to her about what shows we are binge watching. I will miss u and the course .
Just finished CLD103 with Shelly! She's honestly the best prof I had. Her courses were my favorite this year. I looked forward to them. I hope to take future courses with her. She genuinely loves the content and her job. Thank you Shelly!
Just had prof Shelly for cld307 and wow. What a course! Every 2hr lecture was interesting with and there's a 1 hour seminar. It was a good set up. Loved my group for seminar. Shelly is one of the best profs. It's my 4th course with her. I wish she was teaching here more. She positively impacted my life. Thank you for everything.
Super easy content and a great elective. Lots of group work worth a high percentage of your overall, though it can be frustrating when group members skip mandatory days. Each class has participation activities that make the 3-hour lecture go by faster. She's a great prof, super nice, friendly, and approachable.
My favorite prof! She's thorough and explains everything well. If you follow instructions and pay attention, you do well. She wants to hear your experience and her lecturing is conversational style - not formal with life examples. She really tries to know students. She wrote me an amazing reference letter and I got a job because of her! Love her!
She's so sweet, she really cares about what she's teaching and the students that take her class. Weekly/Biweekly tests and group projects.
Very understanding and fair prof. Easy to get a good grade as long as you are organized and attentive during class.
