He's a respected journalist with a lot of experience. He definitely expects you to be in class and you have to ask him for in-person feedback if something isn't clear. He has a lot of fresh perspective and I enjoyed taking Winston's class.
Does not provide clear instructions on assignments and often responds late to questions. Tends to deduct marks for minor issues, even when following his stated directions. Overall, grading feels inconsistent and unreasonable.
I enjoyed this class but his grading could sometimes be harsh and when asking for guidance or advice he didn't really have much, just that it wasn't good. I learned a lot of new things but it was hard to feel like I could approach him.
He is very knowledgeable, but marks pretty tough, especially at the beginning of the semester. Sometimes he gives very general feedback, and if you ask him to clarify, he doesn't really give a straight answer. He's more flexible with grades towards the end of the sem, though.
Winston was a great professor and he actually helped improve my writing massively. He was fun but would give good constructive criticism and can be serious when he wants to. As long as you show up to class every time and you listen to his feedback and apply it, You will do great in his class.
Winston is super nice and the class is so much fun! He runs the class and broadcasts well and they go by so quickly. The role expectations can be a bit unclear for the first broadcast (and even others), so I would ask a lot of questions before you start doing them. I also thought we would interact more, but he's pretty busy during broadcasts.
Winston is an amazing instructor. He is dedicated and cares for students. He is an industry professional, so teaches you how it is in the real world. Gives feedback if looking for it. Some favouritism was present, so get on his good side. Fair marker but doesn't give feedback on assignments. Some material and assignment instructions need updating.
Winston is great, but he does require active participation. He's got a ton of knowledge in TV production and he's fair if you keep in communication with him. He's a fair grader so long as you keep him updated on your progress. He will help you get a good grade.
This professor is well known but he doesn't treat all of his students the same when it comes to classwork and giving opportunities. Material learned in the class is helpful and interesting but the professor sometimes doesn't make it enjoyable.
