A lot of previous reviews are a blatant misunderstanding of this prof. He is kind, funny, and cares about his students absorbing the content. Communicating between English and ASL is a bit messy to start but once you get the basics it becomes a really enjoyable learning experience. This prof is fair and ASL is a really important skill to have.

Because ASL is a very visual subject, participation is a must! The prof is kind and the lectures were interesting, however, he moves through things very fast so it can be hard to keep up and remember things especially if you have a bad short-term memory. He is also very hard to contact outside of class.

Very disorganized and discouraging. Not very understanding. I found that learning through the textbook on my own was much better (and less anxiety-inducing) than the live lectures. Content is easy if you take your time with it, quizzes are easy too. The course itself was fine, but the Prof was just a bit discouraging for me in wanting to learn.

I took this course as an elective that genuinely interested me, so it was upsetting to receive a professor that was quite plainly rude and not understanding at all. He kicked people out of class and everything was going too fast for an introductory course. He yelled in caps through chat and everything just made you leave class feeling discouraged

The course was disorganized. 3 weeks left of the semester and we had 20% of our grade. Never answered emails, days prior to the exam had to email the department head to get him to inform us what the exam would consist of since he had told us he accidently gave us the final exam as our midterm. This course could go smoother with the right prof.

Great professor, but not answering emails is quite disappointing.

He does not answer emails whatsoever so whenever students need help we're just left in the dark. He doesn't follow the course outline at all and is so disorganized. He never lets us know prior to handing out a quiz or a clear outline of what to expect for them. There was countless times where he doesn't show up to class with no notice.
