Professor Grieder is very understanding! She is very quick to answer emails and cares heavily about the success of her students. You do need to watch all lecture videos and understand how to apply the concepts you learned or you will not do well on the midterm or exam. Its a very interesting course I would 100% take a course with her again!
Professor Grider is really amazing - inspirational is a great word. Sometimes distracted by kids in the background but they are cute. Highly recommended abnormal psych, I learned a lot!
Online course and lectures are recorded and posted on youtube so you can watch whenever you want. Uses lockdown browser for tests.
Love Dr Grieder, she's the best. This class was fully online so it was easy to work through material at my own pace. Tests were fair.
I loved Dr. Grieder but she's not really responsive, takes forever to give your grades back and lectures are extremely long but overall she's really chill with her grading scheme but for exams the short answers are quite a lot, overall I loved her and I would pick her as my prof again!
Our final exam came and went with less than 30% of our grades returned. Students were left unanswered in the public discussion forum she made in D2L, seemingly indefinitely. On her syllabus, she provided anticipated return dates for our tests and assignments, providing no further updates when these deadlines were far surpassed. prof is M.I.A....
I did well but I will NEVER do class with Dr. Grieder again. Unresponsive, minimal to no feedback, unclear criteria, boring lectures that you must listen to every word of for the exams which are long and way too tedious. Takes forever to mark and literally ignores emails. Absolutely never again. Avoid at all costs. Ruined good class content for me.
Taryn Grieder is unresponsive, uncommunicative regarding grades and extremely inflexible regarding content material. She penalises synthesising of information from other courses and textbooks on the same topic which seems odd . Lectures are lacklustre at best with little connection between slides or any cohesive explanations of concepts covered.
Lectures are prerecorded so you can watch any time + weekly discussion posts (low stakes). I recommend writing down pretty much everything she says in the lecture vid because her exams are primarily short answer but its not hard if you have notes! Paper criteria was clear. 2nd class I've taken w this prof, she was also very understanding for my ACR
Not a bird course. Must watch lectures and take detailed notes to do well. She doesn't use the textbook but I found some things hard to follow so I ended up reading most of the chapters associated anyway. She keeps lectures interesting enough. Write literally everything she says down. V useful to rewatch lectures just to make sure you got all info
