Marshia Akbar

I really enjoyed Dr. Akbar's lectures. Group assignments are a little stressful, but she's a very generous grader and provides clear, helpful feedback. Midterm and exam were both open book, very straightforward and with no surprises. She's very kind and approachable to speak with after class, but hard to reach via email.

Dr. Akbar is a very caring professor, clearly eager for the success of her students. She provides useful feedback on assignments (the majority of which are group assignments) and is a very fair grader. I most definitely found her class to be the best of the SSH courses, and I would definitely take another course with her in the future.

She is very sweet and it's obvious that she cares about the success of her students. She does research so some lectures are online, but the exam are easy and just based on the lectures. There are 3 group projects so make sure you have good people in your group, it's easy regardless.

She's a very sweet prof. Very approachable and kind. She is clear with her grading but she can be a bit harsher on marking the written work. That said her exams were very fair and her classes were really enjoyable.

Prof. Akbar is a nice person who wants you to engage with the material in class. She gives group projects but they're quite simple. The exams were open book, but the final is harder than the midterm. She's really nice and wants you to understand the material.

loved this class. it was in a very cold lecture room, so having such in depth slideshows I can read from home was amazing. tests were open book and every other week was a group presentation (of almost 8 people, which made the work quick and easy).

Dr. Akbar is a very kind professor, and I enjoyed her course. Lectures didn't feel excessively long and slides were easy to follow. I had 3 group projects, midterm and an exam and it was all very doable.

Genuinely don't know why ppl are complaining abt this prof. You're guaranteed an A in this class, quit complaining. This prof is the kindest lady ever, her group assignments and online exams are very easy to get an 80 and above on. If you have the choice, take the class !!!

Nice prof but never answers her emails. I personally believe university is too expensive for us to be having group projects because your grade is literally in the hands of others - universities need to stop this. Cancelled almost every single class and went online (not that I don't mind) easiest course overall just take with a different prof
