Nice prof who cares about her students! The course does have quite a bit of reading but honestly she goes over it in class too so don't worry too much. She is a pretty fair grader and honestly this class was really great. She explains all assignments well and provides extensions if needed. Overall, I would take her again!
Professor Hamer was laid back and fun. It was a lot of reading but the course was enjoyable so I didn't mind. The lectures were engaging, and we had lots of class discussions which I loved. She's an easy and fair grader; her assignments were never super long or difficult. Only two problems: she's hard to reach online and took a long time to grade.
Her lectures do tend to be long, but she's very caring!
The professor lacks the ability for effective communication skills.
Overall, this class was enjoyable if you are interested in the topic. Heavy on reading, but it is an English class. Grading was very fair, but she took months to grade each assignment. Gives weekly assignments for a small percentage of your marklots of opportunities to boost your grade with little bonus assignments and participation.
Great prof but takes forever to mark assignments
probably one of the worst professors at ryerson when it comes to organisation. she's sweet but highly unorganised.
Worst class. Worst Professor. She seems sweet, but her content is not great. She also gives way too many assignments. There's a discussion post to be done every week, along with the essays. Topics for the papers are kind of tricky, and she gives mean feedback. She penalised me because my paper was not submitted as a google doc.
Never marks on time. Term ended and marks are still in limbo, with a very small window to get review by the time they're up. Doesn't update D2L until way past midway for marks - don't take this course if you question your writing skills, you'll never know until it's too late that you should drop. She's incredibly hard to get a hold of via email too
I did really well in the class and it wasnt hard to do well on the essays and weekly assignments. But it was a bit much having something due every week. Only complaint is it took her months to grade and release feedback on assignments and essays it would be nice to know how your doing in the course before the drop deadline
