Professor Jackson was a great teacher for what many think is confusing material. She tries her best to get everyone to understand as she just wants everyone to do well in the course. If you pay attention in class and do the homework you can get an easy A+ in the class, and if you don't, you're likely to fail.
I love her videos, they are simple, quick and understandable. Doing the readings, watching the videos and attending the tutorials is all you need to do well. Many bad ratings came from students that wanted to use ChatGPT and didn't want to put in the effort. But this course is easy as long as you do the work.
Professor Jackson is the easiest prof who teaches this course. She skips diagramming, and honestly the content is so straight forward if you do the readings and attend lectures. She is pretty good at explaining, so I would recommend attending class. Also if you can chose your TA Nicholas is a great TA, he is a good marker and is very helpful
Prof Jackson is the easiest of the 3 professors that teach this course. The amount of material she goes over is less than other profs and it is easier to understand as well. Just do the readings and go to class and its fine. If you don't do well with exams you may struggle a little, as 90% of your grade is from 4 tests spread across the semester.
Not sure why people are giving her low reviews as the course experience is dependent on your TA. My experience taking her course was pleasant, as it was all online. My TA was Noam Flear, and I'd recommend taking it with him as he is a very fair marker and a good instructor. The class material itself was fairly easy to grasp as long as you study.
Good prof but a hard class. I would take her over the other SSH profs though
I liked the layout of the course. I thought she was a good prof. Lots of lectures but they were done pretty well.
Overall a good prof, the class content and material were much lighter than that of other profs. Lectures were online and prerecorded, so they were accessible when it came to reviewing previous topics for study. The tests and exams were very straightforward, sometimes even easier than the weekly quizzes.
liz jackson was great overall. i found the structure of the course really easy to follow & the tests ok. if you put 3-5 hrs for this course every week you will pass 100% (my ta was amazing tho shoutout to nicholas z!!)
concepts are difficult to understand at first, and quizzes do not need to be that hard, that's all i can think of thats bad for this class. Other than that, prof is considerate and is willing to work around things to help. Overall, would take again. Do not avoid if you can spend at least 3-5 hours a week reading + watching lecture.
