Jenny presents callous and short.I truly enjoyed the content of this course as it dived into the connection between stress and the impact on your body, characteristics of different types of personalities and more. She is a tough marker, there's a lot of reading in her models of stress & adaptation course, but she is unreachable and unsupportive.
Difficult to assign a mark to this prof. She takes a long time to get marks back, is completely absent from teaching, but I was able to fairly easily pull off an A+. If you're a psych student, take this course to fulfill your required PSY courses... it covers stuff you already will have learned. Good course, absent prof.
I took two classes with Dr. Liu and I thoroughly enjoyed them!! Her lecture style may come off as monotonous but she explains concepts really well with lots of practical/real-life examples. Definitely a very knowledgeable prof. Exams were fairly straightforward, and so were the essays, she's a fair grader, not tough. But not an easy A class.
Great prof and enjoyed her class and lectures. Would recommend taking her course. Prof Liu is the best.
Dr. Liu is a kind prof but doesn't really elaborate on her slides and speaks in a monotone voice. 3 exams are easy enough if you take basic lecture notes (nothing from the textbook is on them). She also marks harshly on the assignment with no feedback, but claims she marked it easy? Didn't mind her but maybe choose a different prof if available.
A super nice and caring prof. Powerpoints had everything clearly listed which was nice but she didn't always elaborate and mostly read off the slides. Only had exams and 1 essay so it wasn't too bad. Assigned a lot of textbook readings, but most of it was pretty interesting anyway. She showed us her dogs too and they were very cute.
Very kind and caring professor, but I would avoid if you can. Very tough marker and tests are really unfair and unrelated to course material. You can study for weeks and will still get answers wrong that you are 99.9% certain are correct. The course is also broken into 4 assignments with 25% each which is an unfair way to grade to begin with. AVOID
This course is not a bird course- as mentioned by most Ryerson sites. This professor marked really hard and her tests were difficult for a first-year course. It was mostly scenario-based questions, it was 3 tests and 1 research paper. I do not recommend it.
Just do the readings and watch the recorded lectures and youre good. She is sweet and easy to follow though moves pretty quickly.
